Well I had my macro lens with me today, hence the kind of images you have here - and plenty of roses to draw the eye (and nose - to take a gorgeous sniff). Not much time but I had to photograph some flowers today after a day photographing a wedding yesterday. Lovely, lively day…
Roses
I’m singing in the rain/ Just singing in the rain/ What a glorious feelin’ I’m happy again/ I’m laughing at clouds/ So dark up above/ The sun’s in my heart/ And I’m ready for … roses, dahlias, beautiful perennials
Enough rain today to satisfy Dr Foster, on his way to Gloucester - but here at Petersham, it made some rather beautiful plants even more beautiful - roses of course, the first of the dahlias (and my apologies for not noting their names - next time I'll look at the Cutting Garden Plan), and a…
Roses all the way – a veritable photographic encyclopedia of these beauties … (Part One)
Between the rain showers yesterday, a tour around the two rose gardens at RHS Wisley - these are all from the first, the Jubilee Rose Garden, which features roses planted among roses and more roses (no herbaceous planting here, not allowed at all). The next gallery will feature the planting in the Bowes Lyon Rose…
The sun has got his hat on and – simmering in the heat – here are a just a few things that caught my eye today #floralmonday
A floral & fragrant tour of Petersham Nurseries – Roses of course, plenty of perennials, a Cutting Garden …. a real taste of summer –

Old Rose and Spice (even a touch of Old Spice), vanilla and clove, fruit (citrus and peach, mango and…
A day at the RHS London Rose Show – full & fragrant with five excellent talks … #RHSLondon #Roses
Claudio Bincoletto is at the show each day and I'm sorry that I'll miss his talk tomorrow afternoon (at 4pm now I think) - Roses and their exotic scent: preparations to preserve aroma, and the ancient secrets of rose water, rose jam and wild flower cordials, Claudio Bincoletto, Master Forager I'll also miss Peter Scott…
Impressions from Petersham Nurseries
A rather large gallery, this, clearly, cataloguing a day at Petersham Nurseries on Saturday - starting with the walk down the lane, past St. Peter's Church Yard and Petersham Meadows and then into the Nurseries themselves. Plenty of images are from the long Cutting Garden, which at the moment is a symphony of Tulips, Fritillaria…
A few more things ….
A catch-up from a very warm and sunny day at Petersham Nurseries, capturing a few images in my lunch break from the benches and Cutting Garden - and then as I was leaving in the evening, with golden sun strafing across the flowers. One or two images sneaking in from the previous days' batch and…
A snapshot of Spring – Alpine & Woodland – Kew Gardens, mostly
Here's another of those galleries, a tumble-jumble of images but all taken in the last week and mostly at Kew Gardens. I did pop over to RHS Wisley on Saturday for their Spring Plant Fair - and bought a selection of Martagon Lilies from Jacques Armandes International and some brightly (brave, they called them) coloured…
