Today, at Petersham Nurseries: The Cutting Garden
Spring bulbs scenting the air and with a palette of blue, white, lemon, palest pink, apricot, ruby and gold. Much more to come..

Meanwhile, Pear trees are blooming and it certainly feels like Spring
Prunus subhirtella Fukubana, cherry blossom (below)
Cheal’s Weeping Cherry, Prunus Kiku-Shidare-Zakura (below)
A beautifully dark-leaved primrose – Primula vulgaris Kennedy ‘Dunbeg’ – with soft apricot flowers
And plants to take home…
Chaenomeles Kinshiden – the plant I took home today.. a super-cool flowering quince with subtle colouring
While there have been poppies and Kniphofias and other summer anomalies flowering a-roundabouts, it looked and felt like Spring today. Scented bulbs, pear and cherry blossom, flowering quince and happily, so much more yet to come.
