West to the Orinoco

But first, a holiday…

I’m taking a little time off  for a trip, calling in at the Canary Islands, Cape Verde and on to French Guiana and finishing after a few days on the Orinoco River, Venezuela.

Internet access is going to be patchy – and definitely not a reliable broadband service – so there are going to be precious few updates or new entries until I get back in early December. Ample opportunity then, to look back over the first 10½ months of teddingtongardener.com (418 posts and more than 2,700 photographs) before I overwhelm the internet with my holiday pictures!

Of course there’s plenty to do in the garden still – Autumn’s long arm has been holding off proper winter chills, though these are forecast now. Plans for 2014 need thinking over  – and I’ll be back soon enough, in time to talk about winter-flowering shrubs, intoxicating scents, architectural plants that will make the most of frosty mornings, coloured stems, the last of the tulips and of course, Christmas Trees and other seasonal treats.
