Technicolor Rainbows in the Alpine House at RHS Wisley

Never disappointing, the Alpine House at RHS Wisley. Particularly colourful in these early months as you can see. Rhubarb-pinks, bright yellows, true blues, glaucous greens, cochineal reds, zebra-striped purples and arctic whites - and packing a punch for such diminutive little stars. And this only January 14th (they were photographed on my visit yesterday morning).…

A return to RHS Wisley – as October arrives with blue skies and the warm gold of an Indian Summer

Roses, to come, but first a gallery of late-flowering perennials, shrubs and trees bringing a rich diversity and vibrancy to these gardens as October sidles into view. The Gardens at RHS Wisley - the Royal Horticultural Society's flagship garden - never disappoint and even with frequent visits, there is always something new to delight, excite…

Things that caught my eye etc., etc., – and a gourmet tour of the East End (didn’t expect that, did you!)

A day at Petersham Nurseries, working I might add, dispensing horticultural advice and bon-mots to a pretty happy crowd - weather warm but not too warm, a good breeze, plenty of plants to pretty the place up, time to talk to the customers - and keep everything watered - and time to make a few…

More to delight from RHS Wisley …

Cool hostas for a shady spot; bright - and fragrant - Azaleas to share the limelight and much more besides - perennials and shrubs for sun and shade, a couple of climbers .... A snapshot of late May (the second May Bank Holiday weekend is upon us!) ...

A few more things ….

A catch-up from a very warm and sunny day at Petersham Nurseries, capturing a few images in my lunch break from the benches and Cutting Garden - and then as I was leaving in the evening, with golden sun strafing across the flowers. One or two images sneaking in from the previous days' batch and…

A banquet-kaleidoscope-smorgasbord-gallimaufry of early Spring colour and scent … (or Where’s Thug?)

Ah, well, you've got me - one huge gallery of images and barely a note to cover the 'who, what, why, where and when' of it all - The 'where'will be at Kew and Wisley and a few points in between, including those deliciously cool crocus on my own front step, delicately rain-dropped and rather…

My first look at RHS Wisley (this year) – Colourful winter stems, Alpine and Glasshouse finery and more…

I'm fortunate that the vast array of garden landscapes at RHS Wisley in Surrey are a short drive from Teddington HQ and that I can be as frequent a visitor as I am, without ever, ever being bored - there is always something, whatever the season, to delight and inspire. This unseasonably mild weather (about…

A Winter Gallery for your delight and delectation …

More from my Twitter account and once again, just the pictures to look at. It's late and there's another busy day tomorrow .....

A Teddington Gardener roundup on twitter – and 11 sleeps ’til Christmas

Here we are and it is nearly Christmas - 11 sleeps to go - and once more I'm apologising for the mean pickings here on Teddington Gardener, though if you have been following me on Twitter or Facebook, my contributions to the sum of all things Internet will seem much more regular, if one photo…
