The Teddington Gardener

A busy day at Petersham Nurseries – hundreds of new roses from David Austin… (Advertorial Alert!!)

A busy day at Petersham Nurseries, collecting a generous delivery of roses from David Austin – more standard roses including Desdemona, Tranquility and Olivia Rose Austin – large specimen shrubs and large specimen climbers plus a whole host of shrubs, climbers, ramblers (and repeat flowering ramblers at that) to keep us happy for a week or two. Seriously, we are the nursery with the best collection of roses – you’d travel far to better the choice!

A workshop on ‘Creating a Cutting Garden’ after the roses were safely gathered in – with Amanda Brame – and I think the audience enjoyed it as much as we did!

The rest of the day spent shoe-horning in the new roses and giving them a good water and a welcome to Petersham Nurseries!

A day off tomorrow for a Street Party celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday and back at the Nurseries on Sunday. May the rain hold off …
