Petersham Nurseries at the Grow London Garden Fair – over now but definitely not to be forgotten….

A full planting of annuals, biennials, meadow grasses and wild flowers, bulbs, perennials, roses, climbers and ramblers, herbs and traditional bedding plants – a delicious tumble of colours and fragrances. Petersham Nurseries in miniature, with Indian carts and terracotta, rustic chestnut pergola, hoggin floor, kokedama and edible flowers. A magical garden created for the Grow London Garden Fair on Hampstead Heath but all taken down now. Happily it will live on as a wonderful experience that I was so proud to be able to participate in – and in photographs, such as these….

Thanks in particular to the hard work and imagination of Thomas Broom (@tbflorist), Rosie Bines (Head Gardener at Petersham House) and Amanda Brame, doyenne of the Green Team and Petersham School of Garden Inspiration.

A full planting list should be ready later this week and I’ll post this as it is finalised. In the meantime if you have any questions about particular plants in these photographs, please send me a note.

  1. Beautifully photographed. I admire your patience and tenacity in getting those shots. Him Indoors permitted me a couple of snaps before dragging me onwards through the show. I especially loved the bowl of zinnias, but it was all rather magical.
