A happy half an hour in the Davies Alpine House in Kew Gardens this afternoon.
I had thought the selection of plants at Wisley – and their presentation in the traditional Alpine House with raised benches and terracotta pots sunk into sand – was my favourite display but then here we are at Kew, with arching architecture and such a variety of presentation… I’ll just have to concede that they are equally good, but different.
*Scoliopus bigelovii (of the lily family) gave me the title for this post. Sorry about that!
