Centre Stage

IMG_0013 - Copy (3)Rose Centre Stage – beautiful, scented ground cover rose

Now this is a diminutive rose, rising barely to 8 inches tall but spreading out to 3 feet. I seem to recall that it has the scent of cloves? It would look great spilling over a terracotta container – in fact, I saw a technique at Highgrove last year, where stems of a prostrate rose were pulled down over a large bulbous urn, with shallow neck and base, trained on wires, eventually covering the pot with a dense, close crop of flowers.

Eureka! I have just the place (see the ribbed urn in the pictures to follow for my Roehampton project). Just the thing against all that silver & grey-blue foliage.
