Pink & Orange – Be Brave!

Now here is a combination that sings (it might even shriek, just a little bit) but late summer colour in the herbaceous border is often strong, nearly always bright and usually planted with contrast in mind.

These two long flowering plants are really making a statement in the herbaceous borders at RHS Wisley, outstanding even in the rain. In such large blocks, this would be a brave combination for a town garden, but you could introduce a little of this electricity by contrasting oranges with pinks, and purples –  adding a dash of yellow – and by generally being just a little less… tasteful.

Be Brave!
