Sharing the marquee with the roses at this year’s Hampton Court Flower Show, with a Vintage theme, were these pieces of floral artistry. Each display a quite astonishing piece of craft, beautifully realised and with such imagination.

Drainpipes, jukebox, brilliant colours and design. I think ‘his’ shoes are known as ‘brothel creepers…’ Winning a Silver Flora Award for Writtle College.
A depiction of Iconic 1950’s filmstar Marilyn Monroe (despite the shocking sugar-spun, off- centre wig…) this display earned The Academy of Floristry Gold.

From the City of Bath College, the only other Gold award in this category. Absolutely deserved. This room set is amazingly detailed and showcases an inspired choice of plant material. When I say ‘comfy chair’ though..
Not my usual fare, but I can admire the hard work that has gone into these exhibits and what more can one ask?
