Tripping the light fantastic at Kew Gardens….
Kew Gardens are gearing up for their Christmas light show Extravaganza with a whole array of fixtures and fittings being installed in the parkland - the even opens on the 26th November. Five pictures to brighten a wet Monday… cosmos, sunflowers, violas, zinnias in orbit – and Thug, the Petersham Cat….
The cosmos are still floating around at head height, self-supporting and with ferny-filmy foliage - they have just kept on going and going this season with more to come... Likewise the sunflowers have had a great season, though their flower power is slowing down and much seed is being set. The zinnias, another late season…

Creamy, gauzy, hazy combinations of pale foxgloves, astilbe and roses with hydrangea Annabelle - and Ammi majus with muted dahlias and corn marigolds - I'm channeling the spirit of the iconic TV adverts Flake today... go on, you can hum it....! The blue of nepeta below, a misty blue, with the same mellow feeling.
