A selection of colourful delights from the Davies Alpine House at Kew, from last week. Bent back and scuffed knees, getting these images, but I love these displays, and as a special treat, there is ‘behind the scenes’ access to the Alpine Glasshouses and the work of the Alpine gardeners at Kew this coming weekend, Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th March 11am-3.30pm each day. I for one will be there …

Plants growing in the Alpine Nursery
About the event
Explore behind the scenes at Kew’s first Alpine Nursery open weekend. The plants grown in this hub of horticultural expertise support Kew’s scientific work in the Jodrell Laboratory as well as being used to create delightful displays in areas across the Gardens.
Come along to enjoy a self-guided tour of the nursery with scientific and horticultural displays. Find out about Kew’s latest alpine projects from our scientists and nursery staff, go on short guided tours of the Rock Garden and Alpine House, and catch a rare glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes.
Friends of Kew can enjoy free tea and coffee in the volunteer room.
