Camassias take centre stage at RHS Wisley…

IMG_3161IMG_3151IMG_3159These camassias are at their absolute best – two fields of blue, banking either side of the Bowes Lyons Rose Garden at Wisley. Just the most beautiful sight.

IMG_3126I think there is another massed planting of Camassias in the gardens at Kew – parallel to the Rhododendron Walk – and I’ll need to get over there to have a look. But I don’t think it matches this for scale or location. And if you have a chance to see this display at Wisley, make plans!

The peace and quiet was rather upset by two very industrious folk on tractor-like lawnmowers – plus strengthening winds – but you too can walk around with me….
