The Teddington Gardener

Dahlias & Hydrangea – Autumn bouquets

DSCF9638 (2)If you’re given a Murano glass vase worth close to a ‘grand’ it helps to have a whole cutting garden if you are to fill it well – here we have Dahlias and Hydrangeas (Phantom and at least one un-named mophead with an antique feel), Verbena bonariensis, rich red Leucothoe and fresh green ferns for foliage, Ballerina rose hips and voila!

DSCF9632Elsewhere, several dozen smaller posies incorporated sun-bright discs of yellow and tawny sunflowers, neon orange and pink zinnias, many more dahlias, a few blue asters, rich purple seedheads from Miscanthus and Molinia grasses, more hydrangea heads. Happy Flower Boy!
