Fantasy Pocahontas, I kid you not….

IMG_0140

A new one on me (and I think pretty new to the market), this diminutive Anemone goes by the unlikely name of Fantasy Pocahontas. Why I know not, but it is growing on me. At first sight the small flowers (about the size of a ten pence piece) are just a mite too fussy but there is no doubt about the charm of all of the bobbly flower buds, which are in a huge profusion. Great fun.

Rich pink blooms appear in late summer and continue through to the autumn over neat and compact foliage. Prefers, as most Japanese anemones do, moist well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Height 30-45cm/Spread 30cm.
