Novelty Rose of Year 2010

Super Trouper

If you are looking to ramp up the voltage in your garden this year, Super Trouper might just be the thing. A neon orange rose, exceptionally free-flowering and with a light scent and healthy foliage.

Named Novelty Rose of the Year by the ‘trade’ in 2010 – though despite this rather dubious title, it is a glorious garden worthy rose. In the new Bowes Lyons rose garden at RHS Wisley, there is a large grouping down by the stand of Cornus kousa, cheek by jowl with deep red rose William Shakespeare and both glow by their association.

Dark foliage plants would pair well too I should think – Lobelia Queen Victoria, Heucheras various, Anthriscus and Sambucus, Cotinus coggygria, ligularias (Britt somethingorother…), clematis (Madame Julia Correvan maybe)…

Exciting combinations to shout about. Get me Sarah Raven!
