Love me tender..

Ipomoea Star of Yelta
Ipomoea Star of Yelta

A very lovely tender (half-hardy) climber, the Morning Glory, Ipomoea Star of Yelta, with the most intense blue trumpet flowers. Not bindweed, but in the same family, Convolvulaceae.

In the summer, it can be used as an annual climber on walls, fences, over arches, or as ground cover. The large flower buds open to reveal deep purple, silk-like, 7cm (3in) blooms with lighter centres. You can also grow it in a container, where it will cascade over the side. If it is supported, it will climb to form a dome. Try letting it scramble over shrubs and in among other plants. Height to 1.5m+ Full sun.
