No photographs yet, but I am reliably informed that my order has been placed for the four new varieties being launched at RHS Chelsea Flower Show next week. What timing! Sadly, no Cheslea ticket for me, though I have set the video to record each hour-long daily BBC show, Monday through Saturday next week. Just me and Alan Titchmarsh.
The Fab Four are – Albrighton Rambler, a repeat flowering pink rambler and I think, a great addition for us gardeners; Carolyn Knight, a golden sport of Summer Song; Thomas a Becket, a carmine pink Old Rose hybrid (a first for David Austin); and The Lady Gardener, deep apricot and absurdly healthy (as indeed they all will be). A full description soon and photographs of the actual, live and up-close plants, I promise you next week. You might even be able to buy one of them from me…
